X3 Designer Blog

Tommy Hilfiger 1985'

New York born Fashion Designer, Hilfiger is known for his tom-boy style. With his major labels being; Hilfiger Denim, Tommy Girl, Tommy Jeans.

Hilfiger was chosen as a designer that represents my Subculture well because the use of patterns such as Tartan and HoundsTooth designs. This really is a form and a way of expressing prepy style as preppy style is the neat and tidy school boy look.

As you can see Above is a Photograph from the Tommy Hilfiger Collection AW Collection.

Subculture Blog

WHAT IS MY SUBCULTURE?

Preppy

Preppy Style is the subculture I have chosen which best describes my fashion statement. After  a lot of research and thinking I came to this conclusion. I am a bit of a trend follower I would say as I love to keep updated with latest trends  but then when I feel the need I try to change trends to suit my style.

This Photo represents my style exactly.

My style is very unique, I have an obsession with layering clothes, like I would wear a long sleeved top with a short and then a cardigan and a jumper. But it really depends on my mood, I feel my style is dependent on my mood as most of the time I usually plan what to wear and how I would wear what I've chosen.

So what is Preppy Style?

Preppy/Prep Style is reffered to High school style wearing blazers, skirts, and very high professional work wear.

I feel my style is the same as represented above. I wear a lot of skirts, and baggy clothing. Also I like the idea of layering up.

Above is a photography of me at uni on a normal day, wearing a lovely warm red turtle neck jumper with a cream scarf and a black jersey skirt, also wearing a mustard bat-wing cardigan, styled with a Casio watch and a black studded bag.
